ToggleWhat Is a Travel Trailer with a Bunk Room?
A travel trailer with a bunk room is a towable RV that offers enhanced sleeping arrangements, especially for families. While there are many travel trailers with bunk beds, those with dedicated bunk rooms stand out for their added privacy and convenience. Travel trailer bunk rooms are fully enclosed with a door, much like a private bedroom. Inside, you’ll almost always find sleeping space. But many bunk rooms include storage, a work desk, convertible sofas, and even small dinettes, making them highly versatile for kids or guests.
The travel trailers below feature rear bunk room floor plans, providing optimal separation between the primary bedroom and the bunk area. If you’re searching for a bunk room at the center or front of the layout, you’ll likely need to explore mid-bunk fifth wheels or front bunkhouse 5th wheels.

What Campers Have 4 Bunks?
Many campers with bunk rooms can sleep up to four people. This can vary between four single bunks, two single bunks, and a queen, and two to three bunks with a convertible sofa or dinette. Families of six may find campers with the four single, permanent bunks the most convenient for avoiding daily setup and breakdown. Two examples from this article include the Grey Wolf 29TE and the Campsite Reserve 29TJ.

What Size Sheets for Trailer Bunks?
The correct sheet size for travel trailer bunks depends on the size of the bunks themselves. Regular queen sheets work for the few bunk rooms with lower queen beds. Most bunk room twin-sized mattresses use twin sheets, but the fitted sheet may not fit the height of the mattress. Personally, we use two top sheets on our bunk mattresses, which we find easier to tuck under. Luckily, there are numerous replacement bunk mattresses with a more standard height. This is an excellent option for lower bunks with plenty of headspace.
