WITH SPACE TO SPRAWL OUT, Class A and Super C RVs are typically the motorhomes that give you the most square footage, comfort, and the largest residential-style amenities. These large motorhome RVs are designed for campers who want to entertain, travel for extended periods, or simply don’t want to feel cramped.

Every motorhome on this list is going to be big—over 37 feet big—with some reaching past the 40-foot mark. To make the most of that space, these large RV campers will feature multiple slides or super-slides, dramatically increasing the interior living space when parked. From oversized kitchens to two-bathroom floor plans, these large motorhomes truly put the home in motorhome.

Key Takeaways

  • Residential Space and Amenities: Large Class A and Super C motorhomes typically feature “super-slides” and offer high-end, home-like features such as multiple bathrooms, king-sized beds, residential-style kitchens, and dedicated laundry areas.
  • Diverse Layouts for Different Needs: Floor plans range from family-centric bunkhouses with dual bathrooms to luxury “couples’ coaches” with premium upgrades such as spa-style showers, fireplaces, and architectural wood trim.
  • Modern Safety Features: While these rigs generally aren’t the easiest to drive for first-time RV campers, modern driver-assist technology and stabilizing systems help reduce the learning curve.

Favorite Large Class C Motorhomes

You already know about the best small Class C RVs under 27 feet. So, we’re taking you to the polar opposites. These large Super C motorhomes prioritize power, space, and long-haul comfort.

Jayco Seneca 37K

Specs

  • Length: 39’4”
  • GVWR: 31,000 pounds
  • Chassis: Freightliner® S2RV Plus
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 6

The shower isn’t exactly something particularly special to call out in most RVs. Okay, so what’s your point? The Seneca 37K‘s shower head stopped me in my tracks. It features a fixed overhead shower, a handheld, and two additional body sprayers. It’s the little luxuries like these that can make all the difference on the road.

Aside from this personal spa retreat in the primary bedroom, this large diesel motorhome has a lot to love. From extensive cabinetry throughout to the washer and dryer option, the 37K packs in road-ready features that make living easier.

Let’s chat floor plan. The front of this large Class C motorhome includes a spacious L-shaped kitchen, a large pantry, a residential fridge, and a cozy entertainment center across from the 93” reclining sofa. Including a half-bath is almost a necessity when moving up to larger motorhomes with higher sleeping capacity, and this is the only Class C on the list that features one.

The bedroom features a king power head-lift bed for added floor space when tilted, a TV, a huge wardrobe, and the optional stackable washer and dryer. Jayco could extend the counterspace in this RV with a pop-up extension, but overall, that’s my only complaint.

Some specs you’ll want to know:

  • 72-gallon fresh water
  • 51-gallon gray water
  • 40-gallon black water with macerator
  • 6.7L Cummins® ISB-300 engine
  • 155 cubic feet of exterior cargo capacity

Thor Magnitude Grand R36

Specs

  • Length: 37’2”
  • GVWR: 22,000 pounds
  • Chassis: Ford® F600 4×4
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 6

Perfect for families with kids, the Magnitude Grand R36 is a bunkhouse RV everyone will love. Built on the powerful F600 chassis, this Super C motorhome offers a range of options and is one of the more affordable motorhomes on this list.

Traveling with a crew requires ample storage. The Magnitude Grand R36 delivers a spacious pantry, a residential fridge, a linen closet, and overhead cabinets across the front. If you’re not using the bunkhouse, the top bunk easily stows away, and the built-in rod provides a place to hang clothes or gear.

My favorite feature is the large skylight in the cabover bunk with a power shade. Catch me RV camping at Great Basin National Park, enjoying some stargazing from the bunk, and staying cozy with the 30K BTU furnace.

I’d like to see Thor reconfigure the kitchen in the future. The choice of appliances, from the microwave to the 3-burner range/oven combination, provides great utility. They just lose me at the angled sink because it leaves a fair amount of hard-to-reach counterspace in the corner. In a large family motorhome, every detail matters.

Some specs you’ll want to know:

  • 75-gallon fresh water
  • 40-gallon gray water
  • 40-gallon black water with macerator
  • 6.7L Power StrokeTM V8 engine
  • 74 cubic feet of exterior cargo capacity

Jayco Seneca Prestige 37M

Images by Camping World

Specs

  • Length: 39’4”
  • GVWR: 31,000 pounds
  • Chassis: Freightliner® S2RV Plus
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 8

Invite everyone in the campground back to your motorhome with the Seneca Prestige 37M. No, seriously. With three slides, two seating areas, and a dinette, this large luxury RV has the space to make a few friends along the way.

It’s also a great option for anyone who likes to entertain, tailgate, or simply be the envy of their campground neighbors. The large living area is designed around hosting, and when you’re ready to throw something on the 50” TV, just press a button to activate the lift.

The bedroom offers a cozy space with double wardrobes, a power-tilt king bed, and a TV cabinet. While there’s a washer and dryer option, it’s installed where the pantry would normally be. That’s for you to decide what’s more important.

With overhead storage throughout, I’d opt for the washer and dryer. Jayco could consider incorporating that into one of the wardrobes in future models. But it does provide laundry access without entering the bedroom—a potential benefit when traveling with a larger family.

Some other specs you’ll want to know:

  • 72-gallon fresh water
  • 80-gallon gray water
  • 50-gallon black water with macerator
  • 6.7L Cummins® ISB-300 engine
  • 152 cubic feet of exterior cargo capacity

Jayco Seneca XT 35L

Specs

  • Length: 37’4”
  • GVWR: 22,000 pounds
  • Chassis: Ford® F600 4×4
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 5

If I were in the market for a Super C RV designed for couples, the Seneca XT 35L would be my pick. But if you’re traveling with kids, this motorhome comfortably sleeps five. With a few extra touches, such as a bedroom fireplace and the same spa shower head as in the Seneca 37K, this RV delivers a luxurious feel with practical design.

Since we know I love a good kitchen, let’s start there. Two words: prep space. Maybe it’s just the way I cook, but I need as much counterspace as I can get. There’s plenty of prep space to the right of the induction cooktop. The large undermount sink makes clean up a breeze. Jayco gets bonus points for the backsplash behind the sink, too, though I wish it weren’t textured.

The living room comes standard with a tri-fold sofa, but I would upgrade to theater seating for optimal movie nights on the 50” TV. Midship, the pass through bathroom provides easy access while someone else is in the shower. Pass through bathrooms aren’t my favorite, but they can be practical when you only have one space to clean up in a larger RV.

The bedroom offers a cozy retreat with a residential king bed, a fireplace, and a TV cabinet. Upgrade to the washer-dryer combo to make it easier to extend your trip with fresh linens and laundry.

Some specs you’ll want to know:

  • 60-gallon fresh water
  • 30-gallon gray water
  • 30-gallon black water with macerator
  • 6.7L Power StrokeTM V8 engine
  • 120 cubic feet of exterior cargo capacity

Top Large Class A Motorhomes

If you’ve already explored the best small Class A RVs under 32 feet, let’s swing the pendulum. These large Class A motorhomes are designed for those who can’t live without that homey feel on the road. All over 37 feet, these big luxury motorhomes are ready to hit the road for extended trips.

Forest River Georgetown 7 Series 36K

Images by Camping World

Specs

  • Length: 40’1”
  • GVWR: 26,000 pounds
  • Chassis: Ford® F-53
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 8

Live on the road in style, or take the whole family for an extended trip in the Georgetown 7 Series 36K. A luxury Class A bunkhouse, this RV has been a fan favorite since its 2023 introduction by Forest River.

Part of what makes this a dream large family RV is the two full bathrooms. One private for the primary suite and a midship bathroom for kids or extra guests. This large Class A motorhome comes with stackable washer and dryer prep, large wardrobes, and a king bed in the primary bedroom.

The theater seating accommodates two, but I’d like to see Forest River introduce additional seating options in the future, given that it’s designed for families. Maybe instead of a dinette, there’s a jackknife sofa with a stowable table that could serve as the dining area.

I love the inclusion of an electric overhead bunk to accommodate even more guests, or you could use that as the kids’ sleeping area and transform the bunks into additional gear storage. The kitchen includes a large farmhouse sink, a 3-burner cooktop, and a massive residential refrigerator.

Some other specs you’ll want to know:

  • 73-gallon fresh water
  • 52-gallon gray water
  • 52-gallon black water with macerator
  • 7.3L V8 gas engine

Images by Camping World

Specs

  • Length: 38’10”
  • GVWR: 24,000 pounds
  • Chassis: Ford® F-53
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 7

Jayco’s Class A line-up just feels very livable to me. Intentional design provides a seamless flow throughout the motorhome. The Precept 36C is the perfect large Class A RV for someone who values a smart layout and flexible entertaining.

With three slides, the interior is open and airy, allowing everyone to move around comfortably. The theater seating and hide-a-bed sofa both face the 50” TV on a lift, making this an excellent RV for your next tailgate event

With a full bath in the primary suite and a midship half bath, it even includes the option to upgrade to a stackable washer and dryer. The kitchen has an edge over some other Jayco models on this list by offering more usable countertop space.

As with all Jayco RVs, the Koni® FSD shocks provide a smooth ride for everyone on the road, and the brand-new Safe-T Plus steering stabilizer creates a more comfortable, secure feel while in the captain’s chair.

Some other specs you’ll want to know:

  • 72-gallon fresh water
  • 72-gallon gray water
  • 72-gallon black water with macerator
  • 7.3L V8 engine

If you’re looking to wow your friends and family, a Newmar Class A motorhome might be the way to go. With unique details like lighted architectural wood trim and above-counter artistic sinks, Ventana RVs are sure to be showstoppers for anyone who steps inside.

Depending on the floor plan, you’ll get features like bunk beds, washer and dryer stacks, walk-in closets, and in-counter induction cooktops. Ventana’s 4326 model even comes with a dishwasher! As the youths say, it’s giving: “super yacht on wheels”.

These very large motorhomes blend the performance of a diesel pusher with luxury details and craftsmanship, and no two Ventanas are alike. Ranging from under $100,000 to upwards of $600,000, we’re sure to have a unique Ventana that’s right for you.

Specs

  • Length: 36’6”
  • GVWR: 22,000 pounds
  • Chassis: Ford® F-53
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 7

If you like the Seneca Prestige 37M but prefer a Class A motorhome, check out the Precept 34G. With a virtually identical floor plan, this large RV delivers the same punch but is three feet shorter than its Super C cousin.

Since you already know what the interior looks like, let’s chat about some of the other specs for this large Jayco motorhome. Tow your toys or a second vehicle with the 5,000-pound towing capacity using a 7-pin plug.

This RV comes prepped with two 6-volt house batteries on a slide-out tray, a Winegard® 2.0 Wi-Fi/4G antenna, an electric fireplace, and a water filtration system. You’ll also be able to book early or late-season trips with greater confidence, thanks to the 30,000 BTU auto-ignition ducted furnace and the 15,000 BTU air conditioner.

As always, you get Jayco’s signature JRide® Plus package for improved road performance and easy stabilization.

Some other specs you’ll want to know:

  • 73-gallon gray water
  • 50-gallon black water with macerator

Forest River Georgetown 5 Series 36F

Subscribe to the Camping World YouTube channel, and never miss a video.

Specs

  • Length: 39’7”
  • GVWR: 24,000 pounds
  • Chassis: Ford® F-53
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 8

If you love the 7 Series but want a more affordable option, the Georgetown 5 Series 36F has a layout comparable to the 36K but at a lower price point.

Looking at the 36F and 36K side by side, this 5 Series RV would be my choice. The midship bathroom flips the shower and the toilet, eliminating that awkwardly angled wall. Fixing this space gives you a much bigger pantry. You lose out on the fireplace, but I’ll always choose a campfire over a fireplace. Overall, this space is just more workable in my opinion.

I do love that Forest River includes actual doors on the bunk beds, giving kids a bit more privacy than just a pull curtain. The 5 Series gets you a six-gallon water heater, two house batteries, a 35,000 BTU furnace, and LED lighting throughout.

Some other specs you’ll want to know:

  • 73-gallon fresh water
  • 52-gallon gray water
  • 52-gallon black water with macerator
  • 7.3L V8 gas engine

How Big Is a Motorhome Gas Tank?

Motorhome gas tank sizes vary by class, but Class A models tend to offer the largest tanks to support long-distance travel—and account for their lower fuel economy. Here are some average gas tank sizes for motorhomes:

  • Class A gas motorhomes: 80 to 100 gallons
  • Super C motorhomes: 60 to 100 gallons
  • Diesel-powered motorhomes: 100 to 150 gallons

With these larger tanks, many motorhomes can travel up to 600 miles between gas stops.

How Much Is a Large Motorhome?

As a general rule, you’ll be paying over $100,000 for most large motorhomes, new or used. However, motorhome prices depend on a few factors.

  • Are you buying new or used?
  • How many amenities do you want?
  • What brand are you looking to buy?
  • What kind of engine do you want?

These factors, among others, will affect RV costs, but here are a few average starting prices for larger motorhomes:

  • Large Gas Class A Motorhomes: Start around $150,000
  • Super C Motorhomes: Start around $180,000
  • Luxury Diesel Class A Motorhomes: Start around $300,000

The upfront cost of large RVs might be higher, but you get more residential-style amenities, increased storage, and many full-time-ready features.

Is It Hard to Drive a Big Motorhome?

While big motorhomes aren’t the easiest RVs to drive, the advanced safety features included standard in today’s newer motorhomes make the learning curve easier for first-time drivers. Here are a few things that will make your drive feel less scary.

  • The elevated driving position and large panoramic windshields give you superior road visibility.
  • Air suspension and long wheelbases reduce how much you’re bounced around on the road.
  • Backup and side-view cameras assist with parking and lane changes.
  • Modern driver-assist features make highway hauls easier than expected.

With practice, RVers will be road-ready in no time.
