HITTING THE ROAD WITH YOUR PARTNER? The best Class B RV for couples might be the right fit if you want to travel light, access more rugged destinations, or only need room for two.

Outdoor adventurers love camper vans’ compact designs and unique innovations. Due to their size, these RVs can often access areas that others cannot. Let’s dive in and explore the best Class B camper vans for two!

Key Takeaways

  • Class B RVs are ideal for couples seeking compact, fuel-efficient, easy-to-drive camper vans that can access tighter or more rugged destinations while still offering essentials like a wet bath, kitchenette, and clever storage.
  • Top models — including options from Thor, Jayco, Winnebago, and more — vary in layouts (twin-to-king beds, Murphy beds, rear garages, extra seating) and capabilities (off-grid power systems, AWD, enhanced storage), allowing couples to match a van to their travel style.
  • Class B RVs tend to hold their value well and offer superior maneuverability. Still, they typically cost more than Class Cs and have less interior space—making the best choice dependent on budget, travel needs, and desired campsite access.

Top Picks for the Best Class B RV for Couples

The best campervans for two adults might be compact, ranging in length from 17’11” to 21’1”, but most still offer a wet bath, a sleeping area, a kitchenette, and excellent storage. Compared to Class C campers and Class A RVs, Class Bs are more fuel-efficient and generally easier to drive. Each RV camper features unique amenities and layouts, so explore each to determine which best fits your needs.

Specs

  • Length: 17’11”
  • GVWR: 8,550 pounds
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster® 1500

The Freedom Elite 17D is a newer addition to Thor’s camper van lineup. At under 18 feet, it’s also one of the most compact camper vans out there. With a flip-up rear bed that prioritizes a massive rear “garage” for gear storage, this Class B RV floor plan is designed for couples or solo travelers.

In the cockpit, swivel chairs give you a comfortable place to sit when the weather doesn’t allow it outside. However, the center of the floor plan also accommodates opposing dinette benches with a removable table, ideal for dining or remote work. Each bench is also built with a seatbelt for two extra travel-safe passenger seats.

The camper van’s 75” interior height makes it comfortable for taller travelers, and a 3,500-pound hitch rating gives you some towing capability. At the very least, you can feel comfortable securing a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier to increase your storage capacity. Other notable features include a Porta-Potti toilet, outdoor shower, solar prep, and an elevated L-track system for customizable overhead garage storage.

The Eddie Bauer 19EB is a Class B RV under 20 feet with everything you need for two people. It features a 51” x 74” bed along the entire rear wall for a dedicated sleeping space. The kitchen features a 12V fridge, a portable induction cooktop, a stainless steel sink, and a microwave. The bathroom features an RV cassette toilet and shower, so you can boondock without needing a campground bathhouse.

Finally, the Eddie Bauer 19EB features a booth seat with a removable table positioned directly behind the driver’s seat. With the swivel chairs, you can have a couple of friends over for dinner and drinks in a cozy layout.

Jayco Swift 20T

Specs

  • Length: 20’11”
  • GVWR: 9,350 pounds
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster® 3500

If you’re a couple looking for twin bed options, check out the Swift 20T. It features split twin beds with a removable table in between. This sleeping space also turns into a spacious king bed when you’re ready to cuddle. During the day, this area serves as a nice lounge, offering a comfortable space to read, entertain guests, or play cards.

I love the space of the wet bath. It’s accessible from the rear van doors, which is a nice feature when you want to clean up after a day of exploring. However, I especially love the huge storage closet, which offers plenty of space to hang clothes and store towels, sheets, and extra toiletries.

The kitchen has a two-burner cooktop, sink, microwave, fridge, drawers, and overhead cabinets. From the flexibility of the sleeping area to the storage throughout, the Swift 20T is worth checking out!

The galley kitchen features a microwave, a two-burner cooktop, a 6-cubic-foot fridge, and a stainless steel sink. I love the flip-top counter extension. You can leave it down and out of the way when you don’t need it, but create more meal prep space instantly.

The Travato 59G also features a sizable pantry, providing a convenient space to store food and cooking items. Finally, there’s a wet bath and a 49” x 77” bed in the rear. The bed flips up to provide excellent storage for kayaks, paddleboards, or fishing poles.

Specs

  • Length: 21’1”
  • GVWR: 9,350 pounds
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster® 3500

Slightly bigger than the 19EB, the 20EB Class B camper has a spacious interior. While both only sleep two, the Eddie Bauer 20EB features a versatile lounge space with an expandable sleeper sofa. You can sleep in two twins or combine them for a large king-size bed.

The rear wet bath—complete with a wardrobe and drawer storage— opens up the rest of the camper to livable space. The kitchen has a 12V fridge, cooktop, microwave, and stainless steel sink. Behind the passenger seat is another countertop for a workstation or eating area. You’ll appreciate the spaciousness of this Class B RV compared to some of the others, especially if you’re meeting up with friends.

Another of my favorite features of this Eddie Bauer RV for two is the opposing, easy-opening windows, which allow a pleasant and energy-saving cross breeze on warmer nights.

Specs

  • Length: 20’11”
  • GVWR: 9.350 pounds
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster® 3500

The Swift 20E is the same size as the 20T but offers an entirely different layout. This RV features a rear 59” x 73” Murphy bed, a central wet bath, a galley kitchen, bench seats behind the driver’s seat and in the rear, and an optional pop up for additional sleeping space. With the extra seating, this camper van can comfortably sit four or five adults.

I love the storage of this Class B RV! The slide-out trays underneath the Murphy bed make it easy to access all your camping gear from the rear doors. The overhead storage provides ample room to store food and other essentials. Additionally, an optional workstation can replace the forward bench seat, providing extra versatility for remote work.

Winnebago Solis 59PX

Subscribe to the Camping World YouTube channel, and never miss a video.

Specs

  • Length: 21’
  • GVWR: 9,350 pounds
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster® 3500

The Solis 59PX shares a similar layout with the Swift 20E, featuring a rear Murphy bed, a wet bath across from the galley kitchen, bench seating behind the driver’s seat and in the rear, and an optional pop up tent. Because of the raised Murphy bed, there is excellent rear storage and easy access through the rear doors. The below-floor storage also keeps dirty outdoor gear out of sight.

I appreciate how the extra seating provides space to entertain guests or play games. Additionally, if the weather doesn’t cooperate with your outdoor plans, you have a comfortable interior to lounge, read, or watch TV.

Thor Sanctuary 19M

Images by Camping World

Specs

  • Length: 19’8”
  • GVWR: 9,050 pounds
  • Chassis: Mercedes-Benz® Sprinter 2500

Thor’s Sanctuary 19M is another Class B camper van with an extra bench behind the driver’s seat. Even if you don’t have guests, this additional sitting space means you don’t have to sit in the front chairs or on the bed if you’re enjoying coffee or listening to a podcast on a rainy day.

The rear bed is 50” x 74”, and the screen allows you to open up the rear doors to a picturesque view without bugs becoming a bother. The galley kitchen features a 12V fridge, a portable induction cooktop, a sink, and a microwave. A wet bath sits across from the kitchen. If you’re looking for a van under 20 feet that still has everything you need, this Class B RV is made for couples.

Jayco Terrain 19YG

JAYCO TERRAIN 19YG Floor Plan

Specs

  • Length: 19’7”
  • GVWR: 9,050 pounds
  • Chassis: Mercedes-Benz® Sprinter 2500

Aptly named, the Terrain 19YG is built for off-grid and off-road camping. Features include a 144″ wheelbase, Koni shocks, a heavy-duty rear stabilizer bar, and a lithium battery system that supplies 7.9 kilowatt-hours of power. Adventurers will also appreciate the powered drop-down rear bunk, which allows for easy access to gear. And when it’s time to sleep, the 49” x 79” bed can sleep up to two.

The 19YG has two single chairs behind the driver’s seat instead of a bench. This option may offer more comfortable seating if you’re traveling with four people—a kitchen with everything you need and a wet bath round out the interior.

That wet bath even includes a removable bamboo shelf for easy storage and conversion, as well as a retractable clothesline for drying clothes. Additionally, the standout feature of this model compared to the standard 19Y is the 2,500-watt LP generator with auto-gen start, which further enhances this RV’s off-grid capability.

Winnebago Revel 44E

Images by Winnebago

Specs

  • Length: 19’7”
  • GVWR: 9,050 pounds
  • Chassis: Mercedes-Benz® Sprinter 2500

If you’re looking for off-grid adventures, check out the Revel 44E. It’s built tough with an AWD chassis, a turbo-diesel engine, an automatic overdrive transmission, tubular-style running boards, and dual off-road 10” light bars. Additionally, the Winnebago Power MAX system features an 8.4-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery and 210 watts of solar, among other impressive components.

But you’ll love the interior just as much as the exterior. The rear L-track tie-down system keeps your gear secure during travel, and the power lift rear bed lowers for a cozy night’s sleep once you’re at the campsite. Even under 20 feet, this Class B RV has a wet bath, bench seating with a removable table, and a kitchen with a stainless steel sink, a 3-cubic-foot 12V fridge, and a cooktop.

Honorable Mentions

Do Class B RVs Hold Their Value?

Towable RVs tend to depreciate more quickly than motorhomes. Among the different motorhome classes, Class B camper vans tend to hold their value longer because they feature modern amenities and high-tech innovations. If you want to sell or trade in your RV, learn more about RV values to determine its worth.

What Is Better, Class B or C?

There’s no clear-cut winner in the Class B vs Class C RV debate. However, there are several important factors to consider if you’re deciding between these two RV types. First, Class B vans are smaller than Class C motorhomes—allowing you to access smaller campsites—and generally offer better off-road capability.

In terms of disadvantages, they tend to have limited sleeping space for families and feature wet baths rather than dry baths.

Class B campers also tend to be more expensive than Class Cs, so if you’re on a tight budget, a Class C may be a better fit. Your ideal motorhome choice really depends on how you prefer to travel (off-road or in campgrounds), the amount of interior space you need, and your budget.

Class B RVs aren’t for everyone. They’re compact, have fewer amenities, and aren’t ideal for entertaining. But if you’re a couple longing more for adventures and experiences and less for luxury and the comforts of home, then a Class B RV might be an excellent choice for you.
