Hello out there! In the past 7 years of travel trailer camping with my wife, I have come to realize the best campsites are almost always State/Federal Parks. For the main reason they are not there to make a profit, so they have no need to stuff campers in so close to one and other. Plus are mostly on land way to valuable for some investor to want to use it as a campground. Oh there are a few private campground in special areas like The Florida Keys, but be prepared to PAY! At least $200/ night for the spot right on the beach. The only drawback I’ve noticed in almost every State/Federal Parks is the lack of good WIFI! Plus cell signals can be weak out on the boonies. Very rarely though will you find a vacant campsite just driving up to that type of campground, most government owned campgrounds/parks are booked up, because of these advantages. So good luck out there, have fun and stay safe an healthy!

We now have Bear Lodge Cabins and extreme outdoor enthusiast who likes living life however life gets thrown at you. Located just east of the devils tower, west of Rapid City and conveniently located to my new inspiration of aerospace. The native Indian in me looks just over the hill for the bison drop off and, to my east for the first-ever minute man facility in the USA next to an Air Force base.. I think for a prime lo cal spot for UFO training without opposing position. hint hint. nothing yet to add although just putting names out there with House Of Repairs’ with no face to put on the BOT

Great points! Everyone will have to decide what features and amenities they need. State and Federal parks often an excellent option, though, I agree.
