Wade divides his time among various outdoor activities in both urban and rural environments. An adventurer by nature, he is always up for a challenging hike, fun hunt, or day out on the water with friends and family. When he isn’t enjoying the outdoors, he’s writing, reading, or tinkering with motorcycles and cars.

Having a portable grill with you on your camping trip is a must. It will keep you from having to cook every single meal in your RV’s kitchen. This will ensure the inside of your RV doesn’t become a mess. When I camp, I cook as many of my meals outside as I can. Plus, it’s another way to take advantage of your surroundings and get the most out of living the RV lifestyle. So here we’re walking through the best outdoor grills for RVs.

While cooking over a campfire is always a fun thing to do, it’s not always convenient. That’s why I suggest taking along a portable grill and cooking your breakfast, lunch, or dinner over a controlled flame. Here are several models, available at Camping World, that would be perfect for your next camping trip.

Sometimes, when grilling, one of the biggest issues is not having enough working space. Whether you’re looking for prep space or somewhere to put your plates and tools down, a flat surface can quickly become your best friend. With this Grill and Table Bundle (made up of the BBQTek Portable Grill and the GCI Outdoor Slim-Fold Outdoor Cook Station), you’ll never have to worry about having enough space ever again. There are many more portable grills out there from charcoal to electric, gas to pellet. These are simply some of my top picks. You certainly don’t have to purchase one of these, but your camping trip (and your meals) will show the difference if you take the time to find room in your RV to bring along a portable grill. Explore our RV Recipes and cooking tips to inspire your next meal. Keep in mind elevation can play a factor in your grill’s performance, so cooking times and temperatures may need adjusting the higher up you go.

I just purchased the smoke hollow shown above. It presented good quality and great materials. I did not like how it cooked my steak. It took over 20 minutes to cook a 1.5″ thick strip steak to medium rare at full power. I learned I am not a big fan of infrared cooking. The burner heats up a SS baffle and it heats the food. I did some mods. I drilled 20 or so 3/8″ holes in the baffle but away from the burner. Night and day difference. I also have an alum hard coated grill grate from an older stove which is another addition that should make this even better. I am not giving up on it. It just needs a little engineering to make it a better grill.

I have a Hitchfire grill that is on an arm attached to the hitch of my rig. I put in a double hitch so I can still tow a vehicle. It run on the house propane tank, but also will run on a small portable tank.

Works great, and it stows outside. No hot grill or grease in the RV…

I have a side burner for vegetables or sauce. I use two cast iron pans on the grill for searing and cooking.

The guy who runs the company is super nice and will quickly help with any problem you may have…

I can’t recommend it enough. We probably cook 90 percent of our meals on its when we were traveling.

    I don’t see why RV dealers don’t carry them…

I searched for a good grill for my RV for years. Had a Weber, it was fine but cleaning was a chore. I still jave a 4 burner Weber on my patio at home. Last year I purchased a 22″ Blackstone griddle and it was a game changer. So much so that I will be purchasing a 36″ for the back patio at home. Cleaning Is a cinch after every meal and it packs away nicely..
A griddle is the way to go as you can cook anything right on the surface, eggs, pancakes, steaks, anything!

Thanks for the comment, Brad! Camping World carries Hitch Fire grills and they’re adding more all the time. They’re great.
