The Best Class A RVs of 2026

THE BEST Class A RVs have traditionally been the choice of active retirees, but an increasing number of young families and remote workers are choosing these motorhomes for their RV adventures. With more compact Class A models available, family-friendly layouts that include bunks, and office space conversions, Class A RVs are inviting a wider range of RVers to enjoy all they have to offer.

Let’s dive into our picks for the best Class A RVs in 2026.

Key Takeaways

  • Versatile Floor Plans: 2026 designs are moving away from traditional layouts toward multi-functional spaces, such as “Adap-Table” dinettes for remote work and secluded rear bunkhouses that provide much-needed privacy for families.
  • Lifestyle-Specific Picks: Top recommendations focus on “uniqueness,” ranging from the compact, budget-friendly Freedom Traveler for soloists to the ultra-luxe King Aire with its high-end residential appliances and Italian leather.
  • Performance & Reliability: High-end models continue to favor Cummins® diesel engines for power, while brands like Newmar and Tiffin maintain their lead in owner satisfaction due to superior build quality and “legendary” customer service.

Best Class A RV Picks for 2026

When selecting my picks for the best Class A RVs of 2026, I mainly looked for uniqueness. I constantly asked, “What makes this model different from all the others?” However, as people increasingly embrace the camping lifestyle, I also sought specific features that would appeal to different types of travelers. Each RV below has a specific ‘Best For’ award based on my findings.

Best For Remote Workers: Holiday Rambler Nautica 37S

Images by Holiday Rambler

Specs

  • Length: 38’
  • Chassis: Freightliner®
  • GVWR: 32,400 pounds
  • Hitch Rating: 10,000 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

If you’re one of the rising groups of RVers who choose to work and camp together, check out the Nautica 37S. With the Adap-Table™ dinette, you can easily set up a work area without taking up valuable space. You’ll sit along the camp-side wall with a window overlooking your site. Think of all the beauty that could surround you while working from this dinette!

I also love that when it’s time for work to end, there’s a spacious sofa to relax with friends or enjoy a beverage while watching a game. It’s also the perfect place for your pup to hang out with you during the workday.

Another feature that sets the Nautica 37S apart is the additional half bath. This creates a private space in the rear of the motorcoach that is completely yours. When friends come over, they don’t have to traipse through your bedroom to get to the rear bathroom. This layout is great for RVers who need a comfortable workspace during the day but want a place to lounge and entertain on the weekends.

Best For RVers Who Need Storage: Fleetwood Palisade 45CS

Specs

  • Length: 44’8”
  • Chassis: Freightliner® XCM
  • GVWR: 46,000 pounds
  • Hitch Rating: 15,000 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

Whether you’re a family needing space for everyone’s toiletries or a couple traveling full-time, the Fleetwood Palisade 45CS has all the storage you’ll need. My favorite part of this Class A RV is the rear walk-in closet that includes a stackable washer and dryer.

You’ll have no problem finding a place to put away clothes and gear for a weekend, a month, or years. The bedroom offers even more storage, including two wardrobes, a dresser, and overhead storage above the bed.

In the main living space, there is overhead storage throughout, and a pantry in the kitchen. My one knock is that the counterspace is somewhat limited, but I love that they included a pull-out extension when needed.

If you’re a family, not only does the 45CS offer plenty of storage, but the sofa also converts easily into a second sleeping space. The kids have cabinets to store clothes and toys, and a full-size bed to sleep comfortably. In addition, dishes can go right into the dishwasher while you enjoy an evening campfire!

Best For Solo Travelers: Thor Freedom Traveler A24

Subscribe to the Camping World YouTube channel, and never miss a video.

Specs

  • Length: 25’8”
  • Chassis: Ford® E-Series
  • GVWR: 12,500 pounds
  • Hitch Rating: 8,000 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

If you’re a single person or prefer the option of twin beds, the Freedom Traveler E Series A24 is an excellent compact Class A motorhome. It’s easy to drive and maneuver, and at an affordable price, it’s a great option for folks on a budget. I love the twin bed option, but if you prefer a larger space, you can easily convert the rear bed to a king.

I also love the single slide-out, which provides additional interior space up front without requiring much maintenance compared to larger coaches with super slides or multiple slide-outs. Especially for a solo traveler, having reduced maintenance makes owning an RV more enjoyable.

But just because this Freedom Traveler is smaller doesn’t mean it lacks amenities. You still have a full kitchen, a full bathroom, a sofa with side tables, a closet, and a countertop extension, all of which combine to provide ease and comfort while camping.

Best For Families: Forest River Berkshire XLT 45E

Images by Camping World

Specs

  • Length: 44’11”
  • Chassis: Freightliner® XCR
  • GVWR: 47,000 pounds
  • Hitch Rating: 15,000 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 10

Several manufacturers have built motorhomes with bunk beds in the last few years, but I like the Berkshire XLT 45E the best because of the bunk location. They aren’t in the hallway, but rather in the rear, in a small room of their own. There’s a door separating this space from the main bedroom, and as a parent of two, I love that the kids and parents have privacy. There’s also easy access to a spacious bathroom with a double vanity, nice countertops, and ample storage.

The 45E’s front living area is designed more like a front living fifth wheel than a motorhome, with two opposing sofas. This is one of the best Class A RVs for large families seeking a comfortable space to gather for games or movie nights. In addition, there are three more sleeping areas: one above the cab and two convertible sofas.

Finally, the kitchen has a residential fridge to store all the food you need as a family, and a second half bath provides another place where kids can wash up or brush their teeth. The only downside might be storage. Families could definitely use more, but with all the other family-friendly features, the Berkshire XLT 45E is certainly one of the best family Class A RVs in 2026.

Best For RVers Looking For Luxury: Newmar King Aire 4521

Images by Newmar

Specs

  • Length: 45’
  • Chassis: Spartan® K3
  • GVWR: 54,000 pounds
  • Hitch Rating: 20,000 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 5

If you love traveling in style and elegance, the King Aire 4521 is one of the most luxurious Class A motorhomes around. Just the names Newmar uses to define the interior space gush luxury: “Regal” and “Refined” are the two interior design options.

Quartz countertops, a chestnut wood color, high-end Wolf® and Viking® appliances, a 65-inch Samsung® 4K QLED TV, custom exterior paint options, a heated steering wheel, and Italian leather seats are only a few of its luxurious features.

The layout itself is spacious and comfortable, with a private ensuite, a king bed, and plenty of storage in the rear bedroom. In the kitchen and living area, you’ll find opposing sofas, a Euro booth dinette, a half bath, and ample counterspace. Newmar is well-known for its attention to detail and high-end finishes, so if you have the money to spend, you won’t be disappointed with the King Aire.

Best For RVers Who Want Options: Entegra Coach Cornerstone Reserve 45D

Specs

  • Length: 44’11”
  • Chassis: Spartan® K3 Raised Rail
  • GVWR: 54,000 pounds
  • Hitch Rating: 20,000 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 6

The uniqueness of the Cornerstone Reserve 45D lies in its living area options. The expandable, roll-top dinette is standard, but there’s a booth dinette option. Forward of the dinette, you’ll find 74” powered theater seating standard, but there are two options in this space: a regular 74” sofa or a 74” hide-a-bed-sofa (this last comes standard with the media center option we’ll discuss later).

Across on the camp-side, the standard is a 74” hide-a-bed sofa with a 50” TV on a lift behind it. But if you don’t need extra seating or convertible sleeping space, you can opt for the media center, which upgrades to a 55” TV on a lift and adds an electric fireplace and an optional cooler fridge in place of the sofa. With these choices, you can truly design a living area that suits your style and needs.

In the rear, you’ll enjoy a private rear suite that includes a king bed, a double vanity, and a huge walk-in wardrobe closet. Storage will not be a problem.

There is a half bath by the kitchen, which is ideal for keeping guests from walking through your bedroom. Plus, it’s another space to clean up for the night or get ready in the morning. At almost 45 feet long, this Class A RV offers plenty of room and options to customize your camping adventures.

Honorable Mentions

What Are the Benefits of Class A Motorhomes?

Many people love Class A RVs for their comfortable ride, cozy captain’s chairs, and large front windshields, which provide panoramic road trip views. Others appreciate not having to hitch up or detach a tow vehicle once at the campsite.

Additional perks include high-end amenities, residential-grade appliances, spacious interiors, heated floors, dazzling light displays, bunk beds for the kids, and dedicated areas for entertaining. The best Class A motorhomes have something for everyone.

Floor plans with a rear island bed (sometimes called a walkaround bed) and a central bathroom are among the most desirable motorhome layouts. Compared to motorhomes with corner beds, rear bathrooms, or east-west beds that require one sleeper to climb over another, this floor plan works for couples and families alike. However, floor plans with a rear twin bed that converts to a full-width king are becoming increasingly popular, evidenced in models like the Freedom Traveler A24 and Eddie Bauer 25EB.

Additionally, most popular motorhome layouts have multiple slide-outs, providing spacious interiors and multiple seating areas, including a sofa and dinette. Many of these motorcoaches also feature 1.5 baths, with a private one in the rear, and the half bath centrally located.

What Is the Best Diesel Engine for a Class A Motorhome?

The Fleetwood Palisade, Forest River Berkshire XTL, Newmar King Aire, and Entegra Cornerstone Reserve are all powered by Cummins® diesel engines. While there are other diesel options like Duramax® or Ford® Power Stroke, the Cummins® engines seem to be the go-to for higher-end, larger Class A motorhomes. These are also the pricier models, so prospective buyers will need to weigh the pros and cons of a diesel engine when purchasing a motorhome.

What Motorhome Has the Least Amount of Problems?

Newmar and Tiffin consistently rank high on customer surveys. Considering these are luxury manufacturers, this shouldn’t come as a surprise, as they put more time and effort into building quality, high-end models. The diesel engines and chassis choices also lead to more reliable RVs, which results in lower warranty claim rates and fewer recalls. But when problems do arise, these two brands provide excellent customer service.

One Newmar owner shared:

“We have been treated incredibly well by this company. Newmar has always responded positively to our inquiries, service requests, on-the-road questions and issues, etc. Excellent customer service goes a long way with us.”

A Tiffin owner explained his devastation after an accident in his motorhome. Because of the severe damage, work needed to be done quickly to save the RV. He emailed Leigh Tiffin, the President and CEO, and received a response that involved the Vice President of Service, Allen Briggs.

The owner wrote:

“I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am. [I’ve always been] totally taken care of. Tiffin’s service used to be legendary before the buyout, and guess what, it still is. Allen told me not to worry; they will take it from here. This is why I buy Tiffin.”

Among the more budget-friendly Class A RVs, Jayco, Thor, and Winnebago tend to have top customer satisfaction ratings. While brand quality and reliability are important, it’s also important to validate the dealer before purchasing so that you receive the best customer care possible and trust that the motorhome you’re buying is coming from a reputable source.

Another important factor to note is that the actual model matters. For example, while the King Aire is a luxury Class A motorhome line with all the bells and whistles, other Newmar lines offer models at different price points, and thus different amenities and experiences. Remember that brand quality and customer satisfaction ratings are based on a wide range of owners of models across multiple motorcoach lines.

I love the unique features in these six Class A RVs! No matter if it’s just you and your furry friend or a family of six, there are models to suit your needs and lifestyle. Check out these other articles that may help you in your search for your next motorcoach.
