The ramp door has a 3,000-pound capacity, and the patio deck can hold up to 1,500 pounds. If you’re traveling with pets, the patio is a great place to keep them enclosed while still allowing them to enjoy the sunshine.
The front bedroom is quite spacious for a travel trailer toy hauler because of the single slide-out. There’s a queen bed, a dresser, and a wardrobe. The bathroom is conveniently located next to the entry door, providing easy access to wash up after exploring.
Jayco Jay Flight 265TH
Specs
- Length: 30’4”
- Dry Weight: 5,330 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 3,170 pounds
- Garage Length: 13’10” (5’11” Cargo Area)
One of the unique features of the Jayco Jay Flight 265TH is the flip-up bar top, which includes overhead cabinet storage in the kitchen. This layout provides a workstation or dining space for two by a large campside window.
In the garage, you’ll find two jackknife sofas and a removable table. Those sofas are larger than you’d find in comparable travel trailer toy hauler floor plans, mainly because you won’t find a drop-down bunk in this garage. The 7-foot ramp features spring assist, but it’s not designed to convert to a rear patio deck.
There’s an entertainment center mounted in front of the kitchen, so you can enjoy your shows from the sofas or the bar-top seating. The kitchen also includes a three-burner recessed cooktop with an oven, a microwave, and seamless countertops. The front bedroom features a queen bed, side wardrobes, and a private bathroom entrance.

If you’re looking for separation between the garage and the rest of the camper, you’ll love this toy hauler travel trailer. On the other side of the bathroom is the kitchen and U-shaped dinette, which sits in a slide-out. The front of the camper has a queen bed, side wardrobes, and overhead storage. You can close off the bedroom with an accordion door.
Because Forest River used the bathroom to separate the garage from the living area, this floor plan is a good choice for families who want to use the garage as a second sleeping area or for remote workers who need an RV office.
Keystone Carbon 29WFO
Specs
- Length: 32’3”
- Dry Weight: 7,049 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 3,951 pounds
- Garage Length: 13’

For those with gear or toys that fit in that tie-down area, that’s a major benefit for trips where you must stop for a night. Unlike many other toy hauler floor plans, you won’t have to completely unload the garage to dine inside or set up a secondary sleeping area.
This Keystone Carbon 29WFO also boasts a spacious L-shaped kitchen with ample countertop space, making meal prep easy and efficient. The main sleeping area features a 60” x 74” bed, side wardrobes, overhead storage, and a separate entry to the camper’s single bathroom.

The living area has two swivel recliners by the camp-side window. This is the perfect area to enjoy a morning coffee and a sunrise. Adjacent to these chairs is a fireplace to keep you warm on those chilly fall mornings.

Specs
- Length: 29’

Inside, you’ll find opposing fold-down sofas and a removable table in the garage. The kitchen is small and has limited counterspace, but the sink cover provides additional meal prep space. The front bedroom has a king bed with side wardrobes and overhead cabinets.
Outside, this Grey Wolf 22RR has a 15-foot awning, an outside TV mount, and an LP quick connect. With these features, you’ll spend more time outdoors than inside, which is the point of camping anyway, right?

Whether you want to bring your ATV, motorcycle, kayak, or paddleboards, this toy hauler travel trailer will haul just about anything you can fit. Plus, the 1,500-pound tie-downs will give you security, knowing your camping gear is safely stowed away.
Forest River Vengeance Rogue 23SUT
Specs
- Length: 27’2”
- Dry Weight: 5,498 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 4,497 pounds

The Forest River Vengeance Rogue 23SUT is another toy hauler camper with over 4,000 pounds of cargo carrying capacity. It features a huge interior for a camper only 27 feet long. The open central living area makes versatility one of the best features of this trailer. You could fill the space with outdoor gear, set up a removable table or swivel recliners, or create an office.
The Vengeance Rogue 23SUT does not have a private bedroom. Instead, a flip-up bed sits in the front corner and remains open to the rest of the camper. Like other toy hauler travel trailers on this list, the garage has two flip-up sofas and a removable table.

Our Picks for the Best Small Toy Hauler Travel Trailer
If you’re looking a lightweight toy hauler travel trailer, check out these small toy hauler travel trailer floor plans:
Forest River Grey Wolf 18RR
Specs
- Length: 24’1”
- Dry Weight: 4,463 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 3,087 pounds
- Garage Length: 10’1”
The Forest River Grey Wolf 18RR might only be 24 feet long, but it has a whopping 3,000-pound cargo carrying capacity. Depending on how full you load this toy hauler travel trailer, you must pay close attention to your vehicle’s towing capacity. There’s a big difference between a 5,000-pound and 8,000-pound trailer. While the Grey Wolf 18RR is lightweight and empty, it’s 7,550 pounds fully loaded.
This toy hauler’s layout is unique because there aren’t opposing sofas in the garage. While you won’t be able to sleep as many people, this design creates more flow between the kitchen and dining areas. There’s no shortage of storage in this RV either, with a large pantry in the kitchen and overhead storage in the kitchen and front bedroom.
Forest River Ozark 1900THK
Specs
- Length: 23’4”
- Dry Weight: 5,228 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 4,312 pounds
- Garage Length: 10’5”
The Ozark 1900THK makes this list because of Forest River’s wonderful Stow N Load bunk system in the garage. This system makes it simple to convert the garage into a functional living space and then into a comfortable sleeping area once it’s unloaded.
You’ll also notice that the kitchen on the utility side of this RV trailer offers an excellent amount of counterspace, making meal prep and serving easier in a toy hauler that sleeps up to four people. Plus, the ramp door converts to a patio deck if you want to enjoy your meals outside at any time of the day.
Toy Hauler Travel Trailer vs Fifth Wheel Toy Hauler
The two styles of toy hauler campers require different hitch components for safe towing. The best choice for you depends on your tow vehicle and what it’s set up for – or what you’re willing to spend to set it up.
The main advantage of a toy hauler travel trailer over a fifth wheel toy hauler is eliminating the need to install a fifth wheel hitch in the bed of your truck. Fifth wheel hitches are generally more expensive and require a more lengthy installation process. They also eliminate your ability to use your truck bed for gear storage.
You’ll still need a proper weight distribution hitch to safely tow a travel trailer toy hauler, but the installation process is easier, and they’re easier to get familiar with if you’re a first-timer. You also retain the ability to use your truck bed for storage. And with that important point covered, let’s look at some toy haulers!
How Much Weight Can a Toy Hauler Camper Carry?
As you can see from the varying cargo-carrying capacities, these toy hauler travel trailers can carry as much as 4,500 pounds. This is plenty of allowance for an ATV, a motorcycle, and kayaks or ebikes. The tie-downs have certain weight ratings, but you’ll find the ratings to match the cargo carrying capacity of that particular camper.
Once you get into larger fifth wheel toy haulers, you start to see cargo-carrying capacities of over 5,000 pounds. For example, the 45-foot Grand Design Momentum 410TH has a CCC of 5,700 pounds. This is why the largest fifth wheel toy haulers are often triple axles.
What Is a Drivable Toy Hauler Called?
While most toy haulers are towable RVs, there are two motorhomes with rear garages. Thor makes a Class C toy hauler line called the Outlaw. These drivable toy haulers have an 8,000-pound hitch rating, which allows you to tow a second vehicle or an additional trailer. The Thor Outlaw 29J is about 32 feet long with an 8-foot garage, and the Thor Outlaw 29T is about 31 feet long with a 10-foot garage. Learn more about buying the right toy hauler for your needs.
A Note on Safe Towing
Toy hauler travel trailers will require a properly rated weight distribution hitch if the camper’s loaded weight exceeds 50% of your tow vehicle’s curb weight. Learn more about weight distribution, when you need it, and how to hook up and adjust a weight distribution hitch:
