As Keystone Montana enters its third decade as North America’s top-selling luxury fifth wheel, these upscale RVs are ushering in the brand’s next era of quality and innovation with a redesign. Improvements include a re-engineered chassis, upgraded suspension, wider body construction, and clever new storage solutions — all to hold this already iconic brand to an even higher standard of luxury and performance.
Split between Montana’s more couples-focused layouts and High Country’s family-oriented designs, the 2027 models are now arriving at dealers. But we got our first glimpse in Hershey, and weren’t disappointed.
A Rebuilt Foundation
The centerpiece of the 2027 update is a ground-up chassis redesign.
Both lineups adopt a wider 101″ body, which improves towing stability while expanding the living space inside. The new CURT® Touring Coil Suspension (TCS) system is rated to reduce road shock transmission to the frame by 50%, and the Helux™ pin box cuts it by a further 30%. H-rated tires and anti-lock brakes are standard on both lines.
Working closely with Lippert®, every frame is custom-built for the specific floor plan it will support. The staples across those builds are one-piece I-beams to eliminate welds along the frame length, full-width outriggers, stamped-steel crossmembers, a stronger upper deck, and a reinforced axle box.
Backing all of it is an industry-leading 5-year structural warranty, a notable commitment for coaches that push 40+ feet and weigh north of 15,000 pounds before any camping gear is loaded in.
Storage and Living Upgrades

Both brands received meaningful storage upgrades, though the specifics reflect their different audiences.
Montana now features a 4′ x 8′ sliding tray in the pass through compartment, dual 4′ divided sliding trays in a rear compartment, and an additional front compartment — expanding storage and making it much easier to access the gear you need without constantly unloading and reloading. A dedicated compartment housing a 50” TV on a sliding and pivoting mount is another outdoor living highlight, allowing you to watch a ballgame or movie without retreating inside.
Select models add a 40″ fireplace, a jewelry station with vanity mirror, and a hidden safe to the primary suite.
Montana High Country has a redesigned pass through, a new front compartment, and expanded drawer space in a larger kitchen island. Select floor plans add a hidden pantry and an enlarged coffee bar.
While they aren’t new or limited to the Montana lineups, Keystone’s tiered SolarFlex™ packages are worth mentioning. They range from 220 watts with a single deep-cycle battery up to 1,320 watts with dual lithium, monitored via the Victron app.
And for easy campsite setup, the Titan™ hydraulic leveling system offers a low-profile design with touchscreen and remote-control capabilities, thanks to the Lippert OneControl® app.
Walls, Slides, and Weather
Beyond the frame, Keystone’s proprietary HyperCore™ wall construction uses a 100% inorganic, water-resistant composite in place of traditional lauan, reducing sidewall weight without compromising structural integrity, and features all-aluminum internal framing.
Keystone also custom-engineers the slide room frame for each individual floor plan — a process they call Tru-Fit™ construction. This process includes the application of a flexible rubber seal at the slide-sidewall junction, resulting in a tighter fit and fewer chances of leaks around what has historically been one of the more maintenance-prone systems on a large fifth wheel.
For climate control, the standard BladePure™ system across both lineups includes one Furrion® Chill Cube 18K BTU unit in the main living area and an additional 13.5K BTU unit in the bedroom. Select layouts also include a third A/C, or offer it as an optional upgrade.
All 2027 models also come with the Four Season Living package, rated and tested to 0°F, which includes 12V heat pads on holding tanks, Astrofoil-insulated slide floors and underbelly, dual attic vents, and a heated enclosed underbelly and convenience center. The convenience center has been updated for 2027 to include a full-unit water manifold, which allows owners to shut off individual valves and fixtures for easier maintenance without disconnecting the water to the entire camper.
Featured Floorplans
For 2027, Keystone focused most of the Montana layouts around what works best for the traveling couple — larger bedroom, more living space, and premium amenities like a 40″ bedroom fireplace, 4K Smart TV, jewelry station, and hidden safe. Conversely, Montana High Country prioritizes families and groups, with floor plans built around bunkhouses, two-bedroom layouts, and higher sleeping capacities.
While each lineup currently offers five floor plans, we’ve selected two of our favorites — one for couples, one for BIG families.
Montana 3500RD: Rear Den, Three Slides, Dual-Purpose Living
Built around a rear den with dual sofas and theater seating, the 3500RD makes it equally easy to enjoy relaxing and working. The sofas provide convertible sleeping space for guests, and the nearby bar with a wine fridge keeps your preferred beverages within reach. A practical pull-out dinette converts to a dual-user workstation across from the kitchen, making it super versatile for couples who work from the road.
The kitchen anchors the center of the coach with a 20-cubic-foot 12V refrigerator with ice maker, and the rear bedroom includes a king bed, a jewelry station with a hidden safe, a large wardrobe, a second closet with washer/dryer prep, and a camp-side dresser below a smart HDTV. For couples who want a full-time-capable adventure rig or a semi-permanent seasonal basecamp, the 3500RD is worth a close look.
Montana High Country 391TB: Two-Bed, Two-Bath with Loft & Outdoor Kitchen
The 391TB is the truest two-bed, two-bath floor plan in the 2027 lineup. With a private lofted sleeping area, four slide-outs that maximize the living space, and dual entry doors, it makes a compelling argument for what a family-focused luxury fifth wheel can look like. Both bedrooms also boast king beds and ample wardrobe space, befitting grandparents who want kids and grandkids to have plenty of comfort when they visit.
The main living area opens with opposing slides — a versatile pull-out dinette/workstation on the camp-side and a tri-fold sleeper sofa on the other. In the kitchen, you’ll find a 24″ range with an oven, a 16 cubic-foot 12V refrigerator, and premium solid surface countertops. An outdoor refrigerator and slide-out TV — with an LP quick connect nearby — make it easy to set up your family entertaining space under the dual power awnings. For a family looking for premium versatility, it’s hard to beat this High Country.
