RV Recall Updates | May 12, 2026

This week’s NHTSA Recall updates hit our desk yesterday. Here’s a quick recap, along with some next steps for RV owners.

Newmar Recalls

The front chin spoiler on certain 2026 Freedom Aire motorhomes may detach during transit. The screws securing the chin spoiler may lose torque over time, leading to loosening or detachment. The chin spoiler detaching could cause road debris, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Dealers will install pop-rivets to properly secure the spoiler, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by June 27, 2026.

The Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) label on certain 2026 Freedom Aire motorhomes may display an incorrect weight. An incorrect OCCC value may cause an owner to overload the vehicle. An overloaded vehicle may have reduced handling performance or exceed tire or axle load ratings, increasing the risk of a crash.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 120, “Wheels and Rims – Other Than Passenger Cars.”

Dealers will replace the labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by June 27, 2026.

RoadTrek Recalls

The pop-top latch on certain 2024-2026 Westfalia Wave SL, 2022-2026 Zion Slumber, Play Slumber, 2026 Play Tuff SL, 2025-2026 Play+Slumber, and 2024 Pivot Slumber recreational vehicles may disengage during transit, causing the pop-top to lift.

A disengaged and/or misaligned pop-top latch may result in the secondary safety retaining straps to retain the pop-top position during travel. If the pop is not fully secured during travel during high crosswind conditions, the secondary safety straps could fail, allowing the pop-top to open and/or sustain severe damage.

Dealers will replace the primary latch and secondary safety straps, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by June 26, 2026.

Jayco Recalls

The tempering mixing valve on certain 2026 Entegra Condor and Jayco Granite Ridge motorhomes may not have been installed on the water heater. The safety risk is that the water at the heat exchanger could reach 175℉, posing an injury risk. The hot water at the faucet could burn skin at that temperature.

Owners are advised to turn on the cold water first until the repairs are complete. Dealers will install the valve, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 1, 2026. VINs involved in this recall will become searchable on the NHTSA website beginning on May 28, 2026.

REV Recreation Group Recalls

The furnace on certain 2026 Holiday Rambler Vacationer, Admiral, Fleetwood Flair, Fortis, and Bounder motorhomes may generate an electrical signal that unexpectedly turns the generator on.

During routine generator service, there is a risk of injury if an uncommanded start-up occurs. Also, a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning or death may result if an uncommanded start of the generator occurs while in an enclosure where people are located, or animals are kept.

Owners are advised to park outside until the repair is complete. Dealers will install a relay harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by June 19, 2026.

Storyteller Overland Recalls

Improperly routed coolant lines on certain 2023 Stealth, Classic, and Beast Mode vehicles equipped with AWD may cause the engine to overheat, resulting in a loss of drive power. If the engine overheats, resulting in a loss of power, the risk of a crash can increase.

Dealers will remove the secondary heat exchanger loop, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by June 24, 2026.

Grand Design Recalls

The adhesive securing the solar panels to the roof on certain 2025-2026 Lineage recreational vehicles may fail, allowing the solar panel to detach. A solar panel that detaches from the roof while driving can create a road hazard for other motorists, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will install mechanical fasteners, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by June 24, 2026.

Learn more under recall #M910059.

The driver and passenger seat bases on certain 2025-2026 Lineage recreational vehicles may not have been tightened properly. An under-torqued seat base may become loose over time. This could increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 207, “Seating Systems.”

Dealers will inspect and properly tighten the seat bases, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by June 23, 2026.

Winnebago Recalls

The touchscreen display on certain 2022-2027 EKKO motorhomes may register unintended or phantom inputs, turning on the generator without the operator’s knowledge. An unintended generator start may result in exposure to carbon monoxide accumulation in enclosed or inadequately ventilated spaces, which can cause serious injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Owners are advised to park outside until the repair is complete. Winnebago will release an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by June 18, 2026.

Learn more under recall #205.

The liquid propane (LP) hose on certain 2026-2027 Solis recreational motorhomes may be incorrectly routed over the exhaust heat shield. An LP hose routed over the heat shield is continuously exposed to elevated heat, which can cause the hose material to harden, become brittle, and develop microcracks. A compromised hose may leak propane gas, which, in the presence of a heat or ignition source, could result in a fire, increasing the risk of burn injury or property damage.

Dealers will reroute the LP hose at no charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by July 3, 2026.
