HITTING THE ROAD IN A NEW RV doesn’t have to break the bank. The most affordable Class C RV campers are a great place to start if you’re looking for a motorhome and don’t want to stretch your budget. These RVs balance comfort, drivability, and price, making them a top choice for new and experienced RVers who want the benefit of traveling in a single, self-sufficient motorhome.

Key Takeaways

  • Affordable Class C RVs under $100K balance comfort, drivability, and value, with standout options like the Freedom Elite 22HZ for families, Eddie Bauer 21EB for couples, and Coleman 19EZ for solo travelers.
  • Shopping the used market expands affordable options, with models like the Sunseeker LE 3250DSF, Wayfarer 24TW, and Fuse 23T offering more space, higher-end features, or unique layouts at lower prices.
  • To maximize value, buyers should consider resale potential, timing, and depreciation. Winter often offers the best discounts, and factors like brand reputation, fuel efficiency, and mileage impact long-term investment.

Best Class C RV Under $100K

Finding the best affordable Class C motorhome requires understanding your unique needs and travel preferences. Families with kids may prefer convertible sleeping spaces in mid-size RVs to keep costs low, while couples and solo travelers may opt for a micro mini RV that prioritizes maneuverability. Let’s begin with some of our favorite Class C motorhomes under $100K.

Best Affordable Family RV: Freedom Elite 22HZ

Images by Camping World

Specs

  • Length: 24’1” (Ford) | 24’7” (Chevrolet)
  • Chassis: Ford E-350 | Chevrolet 3500
  • GVWR: 12,500 pounds (Ford) | 12,300 (Chevrolet)
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

The Freedom Elite 22HZ is an excellent option for traveling families of four who want a small RV without breaking the bank. For the parents, the rear bedroom is tucked in this RV’s slide and features a queen bed and a large wardrobe. A curtain separates the bedroom from the rest of the coach, but there’s no true privacy door.

The rear bathroom includes a spacious 24” by 36” shower, foot flush toilet, and corner medicine cabinet. The galley features a 12V refrigerator, a 2-burner gas cooktop, and a convection microwave oven. To add prep space, there’s a flip-up countertop extension near the entry door.

The Dream Dinette™ includes safety seatbelts to carry an additional three passengers safely, and the 52” by 96” cabover bunk is the perfect sleeping fort for kids.

This affordable Class C RV also includes a 13,500 BTU roof air conditioner, 84” interior ceilings, a swivel-mounted 32” TV in the cabover, and a tankless water heater. The cab features will depend on whether you choose a Ford or Chevy chassis, but each comes with a backup monitor to make navigating into campsites easier.

With identical floor plans, you may find more Coleman 22EZF or Eddie Bauer 22EDC models available near you.

Best for Couples: Eddie Bauer 21EB

Specs

  • Length: 24’1” (Ford) | 24’7” (Chevrolet)
  • Chassis: Ford E-350 | Chevrolet 3500
  • GVWR: 12,500 pounds (Ford) | 12,300 pounds (Chevrolet)
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

Maybe it’s just me, but slides aren’t the end-all, be-all for RVs. With a well-designed interior, many motorhomes are spacious enough without additional features that drive up costs. The Eddie Bauer 21EB is an excellent example of an affordable Class C couples’ RV without the need for a slide.

This interior packs a full-size bed, a large bathroom, a Dream Dinette™, and a galley into a motorhome under 25 feet. Thor made some smart decisions, angling the bathroom door and cutting the corner of the bed to provide more maneuverability in the bedroom. You can easily access the closet and get ready while someone else reaches into the fridge to get ingredients for breakfast.

The cabover bunk is spacious, 52” by 96”, and includes a swivel TV. You could use this area as additional storage or your main sleeping quarters. If this were my RV, I would turn the full-size rear bed into a conversation pit/lounge area with extra pillows and use the cabover bunk as my main bed.

The galley includes a two-burner gas stove, a convection microwave, and a flip-up countertop extension to extend working space. Because this is an Eddie Bauer, the interior includes their classic green and beige color palette, which is a personal favorite of mine.

Water storage in the 21EB lets you enjoy more campsites for longer between refills. It includes a 40-gallon fresh water tank, 35 gallons of gray water storage, and 24 gallons for black water.

With identical floor plans, you may find more Coleman 21EZF or Freedom Elite 21HEF models available near you.

Best for Solo Travel: Coleman 19EZ

Want to see the latest RVs? Subscribe to the Camping World YouTube channel, and never miss a video.

Specs

  • Length: 20’5” (Ford) | 20’11” (Chevrolet)
  • Chassis: Ford E-350 | Chevrolet 3500
  • GVWR: 11,500 pounds (Ford) | 12,300 pounds (Chevrolet)
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 3

Solo travelers looking for an affordable Class C motorhome will love the Coleman 19EZ—and, as a certified Dual-Income, No-Kids couple, I love it for this audience too!

At just over 20 feet, this mini Class C RV is a fantastic alternative for someone looking for a more affordable option than the typical Class B. It offers similar features and size, but with a little more width and height.

The U-shaped rear dinette is the perfect place to work from the road or share a meal, and it easily converts to a sleeping space for extra guests. With the cabover bunk offering more length for sleeping, I wouldn’t bother converting the dinette if I were traveling solo or as a couple. It would be squarely relegated to “guest bed” status. If you need a CPAP, the dinette is the best sleeping option because it includes a 12V outlet.

The kitchen offers everything you need: a large 12V refrigerator, a two-burner stove, and modest working surfaces. This RV features a wet bath, so if you are looking for a separate shower, it might not be right for you. Having traveled in Class B RVs, my take is that a wet bath works just as well as a full shower.

This RV is solar-ready, making it easier to extend your off-grid adventures. I’d like to see Thor increase the size of their water tanks in future versions, and you might want to bring supplemental water containers if you’ll be off-grid for more than a few days. A portable RV holding tank is also a smart investment in this case. But for an affordable Class C motorhome, the Coleman 19EZ’s smart design and layout are unbeatable.

With identical floor plans, you may find more Eddie Bauer 19EDF or Freedom Elite 19HEC models available near you.

Cheap Class C Motorhome Comparisons

  • Coleman 25EZF – Another great affordable RV for couples, the 25EZ features a rear twin-to-king bed conversion.
  • Redhawk SE 22CF – An identical floorplan to the Freedom Elite 22HZ, but with Jayco construction and safety features.
  • Freedom Elite 28HE – Need more space? This 30-foot Class C RV remains affordable and comfortably accommodates up to six people.

The Most Affordable Used Class C Motorhomes

Browsing the used marketing is another great way to find affordable Class C motorhomes. There are thousands of used RVs, but we’ve selected three top Class C campers from 2023 and older.

For Families: Forest River Sunseeker LE 3250DSF

Specs

  • Length: 33’
  • Chassis: Ford E-450
  • GVWR: 14,500 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 6

Most affordable Class C motorhomes are smaller, but shopping used opens up options like this 33-foot Sunseeker LE 3250DSF. Perfect for the family on the go, this 2023 RV is ready to hit the road with new owners.

The kids’ sleeper sofa with a flip-down bunk stands out in this family-friendly RV. When not in use at night, the seat belts provide safety while traveling, and there is a special lounging area for the kids with their own 12V TV.

The front includes a theater-style sofa, dinette, and kitchenette with a stove and convection microwave. I’d prefer more kitchen counterspace if there’s room, but Forest River includes a flip-up countertop to extend working space. The dinette is also large enough to serve as a secondary prep space.

Another great feature of the Sunseeker is its full-size shower with a tub. Finding an RV with even a small tub can be challenging. For me, this is a huge pro. While it might not be big enough for an adult to soak, it’s perfect for bathing kids or pets.

For Couples: Tiffin Wayfarer 24TW

Specs

  • Length: 25’7”
  • Chassis: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
  • GVWR: 11,030 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 6

The Wayfarer 24TW is a great used Class C RV for couples on the go. It’s also a great way to get a powerful Mercedes-Benz Sprinter RV without the upfront costs.

Two features stand out to me. First, the twin-to-king bed conversions offer comfort, especially if you or your partner is taller. Second, the split bathroom provides dual-use space with privacy for each side. The toilet and vanity are on one side, with a 24” by 32” shower on the other. I like this because the bathroom is still accessible even if the shower is in use.

This RV’s single slide includes a tri-fold sofa and a 12V refrigerator. The galley has a two-burner stove, a microwave oven, and a round sink. There’s also a pantry slide-out for smaller groceries.

Though there isn’t a dedicated dining area, two pedestal tables provide an additional place to dine, work, or enjoy a round of your favorite two-person board game. Personally, I’m a big fan of Parks or Gin Rummy.

For Solo Travelers: Winnebago Fuse 23T

Specs

  • Length: 24’
  • Chassis: Ford Transit
  • GVWR: 10,360 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

Digital nomads and full-time RVers rejoice! This Fuse 23T is the perfect used, affordable Class C RV for your next adventure. While it’s our best choice for solo travelers, it’s also an excellent option for couples.

The single rear slide includes a 58” by 75” queen bed. Opposite the bed, the rear bathroom boasts a full shower, skylight, toilet, and corner vanity sink. The large wardrobe offers plenty of storage for clothes and gear.

One massive benefit is the bench seat with a large table that provides a desk space for digital nomads with 9-to-5s. If additional folks stay the night, the benches easily convert to a flex bed system for two extra guests.

Instead of the traditional cabover, the Fuse 23T includes an overhead entertainment zone with cabinets and a TV. The galley includes a three-burner stove and ample storage drawers. This would be worth a look if I were in the market for an affordable used Class C RV.

What Motorhomes Hold Their Value Best?

It’s always important to consider an RV’s resale value when shopping. Class C RVs are popular due to their drivability, versatility, and practicality. They’re a motorhome class that is always in high demand.

While brand name comes into consideration when considering value retention, much more is at play. Fuel-efficient engines, popular floor plans, and reliable builds are three key factors determining an RV’s performance on the resale market. When shopping, ask these questions to better understand how an RV may depreciate over its lifespan:

  • Do certain manufacturers have a stronger resale history?
  • How does mileage impact the value?
  • Can I transfer my warranty if I decide to sell?
  • What’s this RV’s average trade-in value after 3 to 5 years?

Learn more about RV depreciation.

Do RV Prices Drop in the Winter?

The end of the year is a great time to shop for an RV. Like the temps, demand tends to cool off later in the year, and some dealers are more willing to offer discounts to make room for next year’s inventory. If you’re willing to wait, shopping toward the end of the year can make already cheap motorhomes even more affordable.

Whether this is your first RV purchase or your fifth, cheaper Class C motorhomes offer great performance and versatile floor plans without breaking the bank. Enjoy these additional resources for budget-friendly RV shopping:
