This week’s NHTSA Recall updates hit our desk yesterday. Here’s a quick recap, along with some next steps for RV owners.

Grand Design Recalls

The water heater tank heating pad on certain 2026 Solitude and Lineage RVs equipped with a ThermaHeat Tank pad may experience high resistance and fail, posing a significant fire risk. This recall also carries a ‘Do Not Drive Warning’.

According to the NHTSA, the remedy for this issue is still under development, but the manufacturer is scheduled to mail notification letters to owners by March 11th, 2026.

The seat base on the driver and front passenger seat on select 2025-2026 Lineage motorhomes may have been improperly tightened, causing the base to come loose and increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, “Seating Systems.”

According to the NHTSA, dealers should inspect and tighten the seat base if needed, free of charge. The manufacturer is slated to mail notification letters to owners by March 11th, 2026.

Winnebago Recalls

The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) may not be listed on the certification label on certain 2026 Access travel trailers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, “Certification.”

According to the NHTSA, dealers should replace the label at no cost if needed. Notification letters should be mailed to owners by March 19th, 2026.

Ember RV Recalls

The incorrect Unloaded Vehicle Weight and Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) information for certain 2026 E-Series and Overland travel trailers may be misted on the Federal Certification Label. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, “Certification.”

According to the NHTSA, Ember should mail corrected labels to owners at no cost. The manufacturer should be mailing notification letters by March 6th, 2026.
